Partner Ben Brandon was interviewed by Fortune Magazine to discuss the legal options facing Carlos Ghosn. The piece looked at a number of Ghosn's options and the legal implications for each.
Ben said, "He's publicly building a number of defences. They follow three lines: that the prosecution was motivated by politics, that he can't get a fair trial in Japan, and that his incarceration was inhumane and degrading. All three are enshrined in human rights conventions governing most of the countries that Ghosn where could potentially be apprehended. He can use those arguments to lower the chances that he will be either detained when visiting a nation outside of the three where he's a citizen, or if he is detained, to avoid extradition."
