Rosie Lucas

Rosie is an Associate in our Impact Department and a member of the Charities and Social Ventures team.

She works with purpose-driven clients on a range of charity, commercial and regulatory issues including governance challenges and constitutional reviews, designing legal and organisational structures, collaborations and partnerships, engagement with the Charity Commission, trustee duties and decision making, and support to clients looking to set up a charity.

Rosie enjoys working with clients of all types from innovative start-up charities and social ventures to international NGOs and large national charities with complex operations.

Rosie is a member of the Charity Law Association.  

Key Experience

• Advising lowRISC C.I.C., a non-profit open-source technology company, on its leading open-source silicon project, partnerships with global tech companies, internal operations, and non-profit regulation.
• Advising Opora, a new charity supporting Ukrainians to settle and sustainably rebuild their lives in the UK, with aspects of its legal set up, including designing the charity structure and governance and helping Opora to be one of the few new Ukraine-related charities to secure charity status from the regulator.
• Advising the Good Company People on its conversion from a CIC to a registered charity including advising on the conversion process and registration with the Charity Commission.
• Advising a university on restructuring restricted funds and endowments including advising the trustees and sub-committees and supporting with engaging with the Charity Commission.
• Advising a welfare charity on the use of new funding streams and a restructure of its governance arrangements to enable it operate with more flexibility.
• Supporting a Royal Charter charity through a wide-ranging governance review of its Royal Charter and Ordinances.
• Advising a Royal Charter charity on restructuring a number of restricted funds to allow greater flexibility and modernisation of its funding streams.
• Advising an international environmental thinktank in reviewing and implementing governance updates across its corporate group.
