Profile

Marianne is a Partner in Mishcon Private and one of the firm’s leading private client lawyers, with more than 20 years’ experience at the intersection of law, governance and legacy.

Her practice is built around the complex realities of multi-generational wealth, including how a family’s values survive its founders.  She advises multinational families, their private offices and trustees on the legal, structural and human dimensions of preserving what they have built over generations.

Marianne is often the first call for clients and their private offices navigating complexity across jurisdictions and cultures. This trusted-adviser relationship is the foundation of everything she does. As noted in Chambers High Net Worth, "Marianne is just wonderful. She has a brilliant way of working with clients and is great at communicating as well as bringing people together."

Her technical expertise spans the full architecture of private wealth: governance framework design where personal legacy and business stewardship converge; trusts structuring; cross-border estates; the intersection of faith and the common law; and the co-ordination of global tax planning.

What distinguishes Marianne is the dimension of pragmatism she brings.  In addition to private practice, she has worked as a professional trustee at Lombard Odier private bank (in Bermuda, working also in Geneva and London) and then at Kleinwort Benson, in London. She understands not only how structures are designed, but how they are run, tested and, on occasion, stressed.

This operational fluency translates into advice that is not just technically sound, but genuinely workable.  In the Middle East market this is particularly valued by her clients.
