Welcome to the 4th edition of our Israel Focus Newsletter.

On 20 October, we hosted an event for Israel-related founders at our London office. The Secrets Behind Fundraising, with the Israel Tech Parliament community. The evening brought together a dynamic group of founders and investors for an open and insightful discussion on the realities of raising capital.

Four inspiring founders - Roy Azoulay, Co-founder and COO at Cynomi, Benjamina Bollag, Co-founder and CEO at SymphoRNA, Ofri Ben-Porat, CRO at Octaipipe and Gabriel Jacobson, Co-founder and CEO of Valerann - shared their personal journeys with refreshing honesty. From navigating early investor conversations to protecting equity and staying true to their vision, their stories sparked thoughtful discussion and left the room energised. What stood out most was the openness, generosity, and shared ambition in the room – a reminder of the power of community in the start-up ecosystem. We may run a follow-up session in the New Year, so do keep an eye out for updates.

Elsewhere in this edition, we share news of our international expansion into Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Hong Kong, a significant data centre transaction for DC01UK, and the latest addition to our Incentives team. We also explore the value of university in the age of AI, the ethical dilemmas posed by deepfakes of the deceased, and what to do if your brand is stolen, hijacked or misused.

We hope you enjoy reading.

Deepfakes of the deceased: Ethical dilemmas and implications on legacy and reputation

As AI continues to develop at a staggering pace, advanced AI-generative tools are becoming more widespread and easily accessible, sparking concerns about its uses. One major issue is the proliferation of deepfakes - non-consensual, AI-generated or altered images, videos, or audio depicting a person doing or saying something which is actually fabricated.
