Last month we hosted an engaging an event in Tel Aviv to celebrate the publication of Abraham: The First Jew, the latest work by our Deputy Chairman, Anthony Julius.
In conversation with Ruth Calderon, Anthony explored the enduring figure of Abraham. The discussion touched on themes of faith and exile, the tension between individual conscience and collective duty, and the role of interpretation in sustaining tradition.
Following the talk, guests had the opportunity to participate in a teaching about Abraham in Hebrew poetry.
Alma – Home for Hebrew Culture and BINA – The Jewish Movement for Social Change took part in the event.
We are thankful to all who joined us for this evening of dialogue and reflection, and look forward to more cultural and thought provoking gatherings!
