Mishcon de Reya is encouraging dental businesses to join its group action against QBE following the Court's determination that QBE1 policies should pay out for business interruption losses relating to COVID-19.
Mishcon believes that many dental businesses are insured under the QBE policy wording that the High Court has ruled should have triggered cover for pandemic losses.
Sonia Campbell, the Mishcon de Reya partner leading the group action against QBE, says, “We know that thousands of dental businesses have been badly impacted by the pandemic and that QBE has not paid out. Given that the High Court judgment makes clear that QBE should pay out under certain policies, we are best placed to represent UK dentists and others insured by QBE, to pursue the insurer for payments.”
