Mishcon de Reya and Taylor Vinters complete merger

Posted on 1 January 2023

As of 1 January 2023, Mishcon de Reya and Taylor Vinters are now one firm, having completed their merger.

Announced in September 2021, the merger delivers on both firms' strategies to support the innovation economy and accelerate their growing share of the technology, media and life-sciences legal and consultancy services market in the UK and in key international innovation hubs globally.

Over 200 people have joined Mishcon de Reya LLP: 145 fee-earners and 60 business operations and legal operations staff. They will, along with their new colleagues, continue to offer legal and consultancy services to innovators and entrepreneurs and the organisations and ecosystems that support them.

Kevin Gold, Executive Chairperson of Mishcon de Reya, said: "This exciting move sees us become one of the largest law firms serving the ecosystem of the innovation economy. In the next three years, we aim to cement this position and be recognised as the leading law firm for innovators across technology, media and life sciences. We believe we are well positioned to achieve this, not only due to the breadth and depth of our combined expertise, but the compatibility of our commitment to our clients, our shared values and culture."

Ed Turner, Managing Partner at Taylor Vinters said: "This is a momentous day for both Taylor Vinters and Mishcon de Reya LLP. From our first conversations to now, it has been clear to us all that the complementary nature of our expertise and values-led approach to growth provide a compelling proposition for us and the clients we serve."

Matt Meyer, CEO, Taylor Vinters commented: "This merger enables us to accelerate our strategy and help more innovators and entrepreneurs shape a better world. It means we are able to invest and develop our core capabilities, retain and attract talent and innovate in our service delivery for clients. It's a very exciting day."
