Mishcon de Reya has appointed Kavan Bakhda as the new Head of the Sports Group at Mishcon de Reya.
Kavan joined Mishcon de Reya as a Partner in 2024 and has worked on a number of high-profile and precedent-setting cases, including advising three-time IndyCar champion Álex Palou in a claim brought by McLaren— which was recognised by The Lawyer as one of the Top 20 Cases for 2025.
Kavan has also advised leading figures in Formula 1 and football on contractual and regulatory matters. He has also acted for a FIFA Executive Committee Member, in relation to claims of bribery. Kavan is a thought leader in his field and his insights on Formula 1’s financial regulations have been published by LawInSport.
