Welcome to our Autumn edition of Recruitment Watch, in which we look at the legal issues that are currently shaping the recruitment sector.

In this edition, we report on the recruitment industry regulator's targeting of tutor platforms and the re-introduction of the ban on employment businesses supplying temporary workers to cover for striking workers.

Following the Information Commissioner's Office's recent issue of a reprimand to a recruitment company, we explain how this can come about and the implications for an organisation which receives a reprimand.

We explore whether analysis of AI systems' potentially discriminatory impact has been too narrow.  Our Employment team considers how employers can improve equality, diversity and inclusion while treading the difficult tightrope between lawful positive action under the Equality Act 2010 and unlawful positive discrimination.

Finally, we question whether the proposed reforms to TUPE go far enough and make some recommendations following the Government's announcement of significant increases to UK visa application fees to come.

If you would like to discuss any of the issues raised, or there is a topic you would like us to cover in one of our future editions, please get in touch with a member of the Recruitment Services team or by contacting us.
