Mishcon de Reya grows its wealth management and advisory services with Partner hire

Posted on 14 February 2022

Mishcon de Reya has announced the appointment of a new Partner, David Whittaker, who joins the firm's tax and wealth planning group in London.

David is widely recognised for his expertise in managing both contentious and non-contentious multijurisdictional matters for ultra high net worth individuals, families, international financial institutions, trustees and private banks. He has been listed as a "Rising Star" in the Legal 500 and is one of the top 100 private client lawyers in Citywealth's 2021 Leaders List.

His experience includes advising on cross-border personal and trust taxation, international asset structuring, pre-immigration and succession planning, as well as family disputes, trust litigation and UK and foreign tax investigations.

Previously with Baker McKenzie's Wealth Management team, David has chaired and spoken at a number of tax and trust conferences and published articles on the latest legislative developments impacting his clients.

Andrew Goldstone, Head of Mishcon de Reya's Tax Group, commented: "David's background and experience advising clients across a number of jurisdictions are a strong fit with the work of our tax and wealth planning team, and the work of Mishcon Private as a whole. His proactive and empathetic approach, particularly when managing high-profile and contentious matters, will be greatly valued by our clients."

David added: "I am delighted to be joining the Mishcon Private team. It has an extensive offering, providing the full gamut of private client services under one roof. I am very excited to leverage my multi-jurisdictional tax and structuring experience to further bolster this very attractive proposition."
