The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has invited nominations for its Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the Year award, and Mishcon Data Protection Advisor Jon Baines has been asked to provide expert input as part of the judging panel. In addition to his role, Jon is also chair of NADPO – the National Association of Data Protection Officers.
Jon has been on the ICO panel since the award's inception two years ago, and says; "It is an honour to be asked again to help select the winner of the DPO of the Year Award – the role of a DPO has never been more important, and it's great that the ICO is helping to recognise that".
Winners of the previous awards were Esther Watt, Data Protection Officer at North Kesteven Council in Lincolnshire and Mikko Niva, Group Policy Officer at Vodafone Group Services Ltd.
