Filippo Noseda, Partner in Private Tax and Wealth Structuring team, has written for German magazine Zeitschrift ErbR on international successions, following a speech he gave to The German Law Society in Berlin in 2023.
The article is available in both English and German and covers the issues that people with assets in common law jurisdictions as well as continental Europe need to consider when putting in place an effective estate planning.
Filippo commented: "It always amazes me how little attention families with complex assets sometimes give to their Wills as opposed to their trust planning. Getting it wrong can result in drawn out proceedings, huge expenses, recriminations and sometimes in assets stuck in legal limbo.
