Constitutional and Legislative Changes in Israel - Implications for Democracy and the Rule of Law

Join us for an in-conversation with Professor Tomer Broude, Dean of the Law Faculty at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he will discuss the current constitutional and legislative upheaval in Israel - relating to judicial appointments, standards of judicial review, and the separation of powers - and implications for democracy and the rule of law.

Professor Broude is Dean of the Faculty of Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He specialises in public international law and international economic law, particularly international trade and investment, human rights, dispute settlement, development and cultural diversity. He has served as Academic Director of the Minerva Center for Human Rights at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

He is the author and editor of several books as well as numerous articles that have appeared in leading academic journals and law reviews. He is a General Editor of the Cambridge University Press book series on International and Economic Law (CITEL). He is one of the founders of the Society of International Economic Law, and a former member of its Executive Council.
