Welcome to the latest edition of Executive Matters, our quarterly publication tailored to the challenges and legal issues faced by Senior Executives.

We begin by examining three recent, and eye-catching, Government announcements. Our Employment Team considers the Government's first significant post-Brexit reforms to employment laws, including proposals to limit non-compete restrictions to three months. Our Corporate Team discusses the accountancy regulator Financial Reporting Council's (FRC) plans to consult on the UK Governance Code, marking the first time in almost six years that the FRC has contemplated revising the Code. And our White Collar Crime & Investigations Group explains the new obligations imposed on business and property owners by the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill, drafted in response to the public inquiry into the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing.

Turning to equality, achieving gender equity in the board room remains a priority for many businesses, and we look at the progress that has been made nationwide in the last 12 months. We also review new workplace guidance from Acas on reasonable adjustments for mental health, a particularly timely publication in light of last month's Mental Health Awareness Week.

We conclude in entrepreneurial mood. Our Immigration Team explains the new "Innovator Founder" visa for individuals seeking to establish a new business in the UK. And as part of our "Jazz Shapers" podcast series, we sat down with co-founder of the Carphone Warehouse, Sir Charles Dunstone, to discuss his life and career.
