Dan Hoadley, Mishcon de Reya's Head of Data Science and Analytics, has been appointed as the Digital, Technology and Information member of the Civil Justice Council (CJC), starting from 1 January 2024 for a three-year term.
The CJC is an advisory body established by the Civil Procedure Act 1997, with the aim of reviewing and advising on the civil justice system. The council is made up of members from various sectors, including the judiciary, legal profession, and civil service.
Dan's role will involve contributing his expertise in artificial intelligence and technology matters as they relate to the civil justice system. His appointment, along with five other new members, was approved by the Lord Chancellor and is in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments, overseen by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
The other members are:
- John Cuss, Solicitor member
- Amrik Kandola, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) member
- Laurence Shaw, Legal Executive member
- Sue Prince, Lay member
- Elizabeth Smart, Advice Sector member
