The Property Litigation Association has appointed Mishcon de Reya Partner Mark Reading as its new Chair.
In an in-depth interview for EG, Mark Reading speaks to Senior Deputy Legal Editor Jess Harrold about his ambitions for the PLA in the coming year, his career highlights, and his passion for representation and law reform.
Due to his history with the PLA, he notes that he is "coming at [the position] with a complete 360-degree overview as to how the association has worked over the past 10 years, where real progress has been made already and those bits where further effort and reflection are required."

In addition to Mark's appointment to PLA Chair, Property Litigation Partner Chhavie Kapoor has been appointed as the inaugural chair of the PLA's EDI committee, to promote equity, diversity and inclusion within its membership of 1,600 property law professionals.
Speaking about her new role, Chhavie notes “As an ethnic minority woman, I’m passionate about creating an even playing field for people of all backgrounds and look forward to working with the EDI Committee to find innovative new ways to attract a wider diversity of talent to the sector. I also want to work with existing PLA members to ensure we are consistently creating safe and positive working environments – so everyone feels they are welcome and belong, with fair access to opportunities, and is empowered to achieve their full potential and thrive.”
