Charlie's practice is focused on a broad range of transactional work, including M&A, corporate advisory, equity and debt fundraising and international investment across a wide range of industries.
Charlie has been immersed in the technology and venture capital ecosystem since his qualification as a solicitor in 2004. He acts for a number of high profile and active venture and growth capital investors, not to mention many excellent venture-backed and/or IP-rich companies.
In addition to the "money in" work of new investments, Charlie works on numerous sell-side M&A deals every year; and also regularly acts on buy-side mandates for multinational buyers of IP-rich companies.
He is also a go-to lawyer for unusual or complex situations, which often require creative solutions. As such he has an excellent network within the international corporate community that leads to much interesting and valuable deal flow.
Alongside client work, Charlie prioritises support and development of colleagues and is proud to have played a part in shaping the careers of many highly-regarded venture capital lawyers, both within our firm and also alumni who now practise elsewhere. Charlie is often also called upon to support and coach first-time GCs at client companies or investment funds.
