Miles is the Family Group's professional support lawyer, responsible for the necessary training and development it takes to maintain the levels of advice and support provided by the Group's fee earners.
Beginning in private practice, he came to specialise in all aspects of matrimonial and family law, but particularly complex financial matters and provision for the children of unmarried couples. As head of successive family departments at Bolt Burdon and CKFT, he attracted a list of high profile and celebrity clients.
In 2006 he decided to take a break from private practice and became Deputy Editor of the Solicitors Journal. He joined Mishcon in 2007 and was made a Legal Director of the Firm in 2009.
Miles supervises the advice given pro bono through the Firm's highly regarded sponsorship of “Pink Law”. He is regularly published on a wide variety of legal topics and is accredited by Resolution as a specialist in relation to cohabitation law and pensions on divorce. He is currently leading the Firm’s campaign for national "Conflict Clinics" as an alternative to the financial and emotional cost of litigation over arrangements for children following parental separation.
