Personal Profile

Joel has been a Partner at Mishcon de Reya since joining in 2006. He advises and acts for entrepreneurs and company owners from a wide variety of business sectors, with a large part of his practice having an international aspect.

Joel can turn his hand to many legal disciplines. This is highlighted by his practice, which includes non-contentious and contentious corporate and commercial matters such as mergers and acquisitions, domestic and cross-border joint ventures, private equity transactional work, corporate finance real estate transactions, global tax planning, corporate and commercial related litigation.

Joel has a particular interest and experience in international arbitration including acting as arbitrator in complex international commercial disputes.

Joel has considerable experience in the co-ordination of multi-disciplinary teams within the firm and involving external firms in multiple jurisdictions. He has a wide network of professional and business relationships, in particular within Europe, Central and Eastern European countries, Israel and the USA.

A tough negotiator who always fights relentlessly for his clients, Joel is notable for his lateral thinking and the commercial and pragmatic solutions he offers clients as a result.

Joel sits on the advisory board of two global high-tech investment funds.

He was born and educated in Vienna and holds an LLB from Bar Ilan University, Israel and a Master's Degree in Law from London University. He is fluent, and can work professionally, in German, Hebrew and English.
