James is a specialist in contentious and non contentious construction law and represents building owners, developers, purchasers, funders and tenants through to consultants, contractors and sub-contractors.
On the non-contentious side, he advises clients on procurement matters and on consultants' appointments, building contracts, sub-contracts, novation agreements, warranties, bonds, guarantees and letters of intent. He assists with drafting and negotiation as required. He also advises clients on any issues that may arise during the course of projects. On the contentious side he handles disputes for clients, seeking to resolve them by settlement if possible, otherwise by mediation, adjudication, litigation or arbitration as appropriate. He is a member of the Society for Construction Law.
