The Shouting and the Silence
By Stephen, aged 11
When I was younger both my parents were around. There were a huge amount of arguments between my mum and dad. When I was in bed I would hear yelling in the sitting room and I stayed awake listening to it. They did not get on which probably explains where I am now. Honestly it was quite scary. There were moments when the rooms were silent and I didn’t know what was going on. It kept happening but we soon discovered I was kind of okay because that stuff was normal. I felt confused, really, really confused. I kept asking myself why is this happening.
