Mishcon Thinks: Pre-MIPIM
Partner, Mishcon de Reya
We are at The Avenue Restaurant at St James’, London for the annual Mishcon de Reya pre-MIPIM Party and we are delighted to be co-hosting the party this year with the London Chamber of Commerce. Both London of Chamber and Mishcon de Reya are going to have a big presence at MIPIM this year, so this is a great way to start it because MIPIM is all about connections and this party is all about connection.
Tony Pidgley CBE
President, London Chamber of Commerce and Industry
I think what MIPIM achieves is a number of things. First of all it is networking, it gives everyone an opportunity to talk to each other in a relaxed atmosphere and it also gives us the opportunity at the Chamber to promote what we are trying to do; bring everyone together, get everyone talking about it and see if we can find some answers that help solve this crisis.
Chief Executive, London Chamber of Commerce
The whole of the Chamber is about connections. The London Chamber prides itself on connecting businesses and people.
Chairman, James Andrew International
I think it’s becoming so important that really there is not much point in going to Cannes everybody is here. You name it, we’ve got it here. That’s why we are the most important commercial real estate market in the world today followed closely by New York, but London is number 1.
Brandon Lewis MO
Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, DCLG
It’s a really positive time. People are moving back into the High Streets and moving into wanting to be part of that community and the property in those communities therefore can only benefit.
CEO, UK Regeneration
This year we’ve got to grapple with success. We are in a real bull market and that is wonderful to see, but how we cope with that and whether we can actually leverage that up in the long term is a big challenge.
Editor, Estates Gazette
MIPIM UK will be important as well, we’ve always lacked a UK Pan Sector Property Show and one that brings the country and every sector together and we’ve got it.
Head of Real Estate, Mishcon de Reya
I am optimistic about the market I think especially because there’s more confidence amongst particularly banks who are providing debt now and I think that in itself creates confidence in the market amongst property companies so I am expecting that to continue.
Chief Executive, United House Group
Property and Construction Group Chairman
London Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Well tonight is pre-MIPIM isn’t it, it’s all party, party! But it’s all about getting your duck stuck in a rota, so we can work out who we want to meet and talk to in a little more detail.
Chairman, City Grove
The whole property industry works on people knowing each other, opportunities being created through nights like this and knowing people.
