My mum and dad split up.  I’m really sad.  What should I do?

Caught in the Middle

By Millie, aged 10

I wish my mum and dad had stayed friends because now they have kind of moved away from each other.  Mum and dad don’t really talk anymore.  They face away from each other when we open the door and dad’s started standing at the pathway.  We hug him and he leaves and then mum only opens the door once he has gone.  She even opens it so she can’t see him but I think it’s a bit hard for her because dad found another person in his life.  I really care for mum and dad too.  I love them both.  Mum doesn’t really like it when I bring stuff to dads so I think I am going to have to ask my step-mum to buy me some new wellies with my pocket money.
