Mishcon de Reya has appointed Johanna Walsh as a Partner in its White Collar Crime & Investigations Group. She joins the firm on 4 February from Kingsley Napley where she was a Criminal Litigation Partner.
Prior to joining Kingsley Napley, Johanna was at DLA Piper and, before that, Peters & Peters. She acts for individuals and corporates – from SMEs to FTSE100s - in a wide range of criminal proceedings, with particular expertise in serious fraud and corruption cases, domestically and internationally. She has represented corporates and senior individuals in prosecutions brought by the SFO, FCA and CPS and acted for Tesco plc in the SFO’s most recent DPA.
At Mishcon de Reya, Johanna will be using her experience to enhance the Group's capability to undertake internal investigations for corporate clients and advise in respect of corporate criminal liability.
Commenting on her appointment, Mishcon de Reya's Head of Dispute Resolution, Kasra Nouroozi, said:
"Johanna is an impressive practitioner. Using her recent experience acting for Tesco plc in the SFO's criminal investigation, she will be playing a significant role in building up our internal investigations practice. Her arrival will enable us to provide a more comprehensive offering to clients, with civil, regulatory and criminal expertise, so we can guide them through any situation they may find themselves in. We are very pleased to welcome Johanna to the team."
"Mishcon de Reya has built a reputation for having one of the go to dispute resolution teams in London, with its White Collar Crime & Investigations Group going from strength to strength. I’m delighted to be joining the firm at such an exciting time and working alongside some of the leading lawyers in the field."
Johanna is recognised as a future leader by Legal 500 and Who's Who Legal, and is listed in GIR's 40 under 40 for Investigations.
