Mishcon de Reya Data Protection Advisor Jon Baines and Partner and Head of MDR Cyber Joe Hancock have been interviewed one year on from the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on whether it has delivered against expectations. Both conclude that a lot of time, money and resource has been thrown at the regulation, sometimes at the deficit of other areas such as cybersecurity.
They also note that GDPR compliance is often thought as an exclusive "point in time" in reference to its implementation on the 25 of May 2018, “when in fact it was the starting point.”
