Mishcon strengthens IP Practice with succession of hires

Mishcon de Reya LLP has bolstered its Intellectual Property group with a team of four lawyers and a paralegal, led by IP Partner David Rose, who join the firm from King & Wood Mallesons LLP (KWM) on 16 May 2016. A sixth lawyer also joins the IP practice on the same date from RPC.

The team joining from KWM comprises:

  • David Rose (Partner): the former Head of IP in Europe for KWM, David specialises in trade mark, patent, copyright and design litigation, and has acted in a number of major patent and trade mark actions, notably in the pharmaceutical and media sectors.
  • Nina O'Sullivan (PSL): Nina has expertise in all facets of IP litigation and protection and related fields. As a professional support lawyer, she will provide the IP group and its clients with information, training and guidance on developments in IP law and practice.
  • Jonty Warner (Associate)
  • Charlotte Roe (Associate)
  • Cristina Comsa (Paralegal)

David led the team recently in winning the TMT Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2016.

Elena Shemilt, joining as an Associate from RPC, advises on a range of non-contentious IP matters, with a particular focus on commercial contracts.

The appointments follow the arrival of Ray Black, who joined from KWM in July 2015, and bring the total number of fee-earners in Mishcon's IP Group to 32, including 10 partners, making it one of London's leading IP legal teams.

Commenting on the new hires, Jeremy Hertzog, Head of Mishcon de Reya's IP group, said: "These appointments reflect a strategy to expand our IP offering. There is a wealth of valuable experience amongst these well-regarded lawyers, and we welcome them all to the team."
