Mishcon de Reya was last night named Litigation Team of the Year at the inaugural Solicitors Journal Awards.
Launched to celebrate its 160th year of publication, The Solicitors Journal Awards are designed to 'recognise brilliance in a changing legal world'. Mishcon de Reya was honoured for its technical excellence in case work and its ability to be aware of and respond to current issues in 'a fast-paced and ever-changing litigation sector'.
The firm now has one of the most comprehensive Dispute Resolution offerings in London, with 180 litigators - over half of the firm's lawyers – covering commercial litigation, business crime, tax litigation, competition, insurance and anti-trust, international arbitration, banking disputes, property disputes, employment, intellectual property and private litigation. It has a leading practice in the UK in relation to investigation, complex multi-jurisdictional commercial litigation and in the use of injunctions as a commercial tool to bring a speedy resolution to disputes. Mishcon de Reya also has the largest group of injunction specialists in the country and has been responsible for changing the legal boundaries in areas such as Search, Freezing and Disclosure Orders.
The Litigation Team of the Year category was judged by Jane Croft, legal correspondent for the Financial Times and Rt. Hon. Professor Sir Robin Jacob, a retired Lord Justice of Appeal, professor of IP law at UCL, and arbitrator and mediator at 8 New Square. The ceremony was hosted by Andrew Marr at the Grand Connaught Rooms.
