Mishcon de Reya and Quite Frankly Productions were last night awarded Gold at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards, in the ‘Fairs, Shows, Events, Conferences’ category, for the documentary 'Denial: In Defence of Truth'.
The short film was created to mark the release of 'Denial', a film written by Sir David Hare and starring Rachel Weisz and Tom Wilkinson, which portrayed the events surrounding the Irving v Lipstadt case. Historian and author Deborah Lipstadt was represented by Mishcon de Reya lawyers Anthony Julius and James Libson, and Mishcon de Reya wanted to look into how a trial that took place in 2000 has relevance today. Working with Quite Frankly Productions and Alex Krasodomski-Jones of Demos, they created the short film exploring truth, post-truth and denial in 2017.
There were over 1,000 entries in total for the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards this year. The full list of winners can be found here
