White Paper on the use of social media by medical professionals

In light of the increasing use of social media messaging services by medical professionals for work-related purposes, NHS Trusts have openly stated that the technology and security standards adopted by some services are inappropriate and insufficient with regards to the standards of care required of ICT businesses operating within the health care sector.

Mobile messaging services that market to medical professionals must adhere to the additional security and privacy standards required of this sensitive role.

This White Paper, produced by Mishcon de Reya in collaboration with Siilo, seeks to identify and analyse the British legal and regulatory framework provided to medical professionals, ICT professionals and ICT businesses regarding the use of mobile messaging services to exchange patient data, including patient treatment or potential treatment plans.
