Telegraph Money Podcast: Does being in love save you money?

Head of Family Sandra Davis was recently on Telegraph Money Podcast discussing divorce, pre- and post nups. The episode revealed some of the oddest things the rich and famous fight over in court, and explained why a pre-nup is a good way to double-check your beloved is all they say they are before you take the ultimate plunge.

"I still think it's worth getting married. I think hope springs eternal and the certainty of a committed relationship is always very good for children, but equally it is very depressing, very expensive and very painful to get divorced. So I think it's really important that people think about it very seriously before they do actually jump in".

Are pre-nups worth the paper they're written on? "I think it's very good for people to think clearly about the contract they are involving themselves in when they are getting married. Pre-nuptial contracts do now have much more persuasive effect - if they are fair and have been negotiated in good time before the marriage takes place and you both have an independent lawyers and have made full and frank disclosure, then they’ll generally stack up" explains Sandra.
