Rise in contested wills puts Gill v RSPCA back in spotlight

Recent figures from the Ministry of Justice show a sharp rise in the number of contested wills being taken to court. Five years on from the landmark judgment of Gill v RSPCA, Dr Christine Gill discusses the Court of Appeal challenge that overturned her mother's Will, which had left her estate to the RSPCA (Gill v RSPCA [2010] EWCA Civ 1430).

Dr Gill was represented by Mark Keenan, Partner and Head of Trust & Succession Disputes at Mishcon de Reya.
