Mandatory e-filing will leave inattentive UK firms out in the cold

In November 2015, after several years of preparation, part of the UK courts – including the Chancery Division of the High Court, the Commercial Court, the Technology and Construction Court, the Mercantile Court and Admiralty Court, at the Royal Courts of Justice, Rolls Building, London – launched a pilot of a document e-filing system, managed by Thomson Reuters. Kevin Ellmore, Head of Court Services at Mishcon de Reya has been heavily involved in this pilot, helping to test and refine the system. The Lawyer has today published his thoughts on its benefits, and offers insight into what firms need to do in order to make the most of the system.
