As with all expensive sequels, there is a resounding pressure to meet the high expectations generated by the original. In this instance, that original was the colourful judgment of Peter Smith J (as he then was) in Group Seven Ltd v Allied Investment Corporation [2014], dealing with successful claims brought against the primary ring of fraudsters in a €100m sting.

This follow-up litigation principally concerned the recovery of parts of the stolen €100m from various third parties, culminating in the lengthy judgment of Morgan J in Group Seven Ltd v Nasir [2017].
