Gambling Commission publishes video summarising imminent LCCP changes

In a new video, Ian Angus, Programme Director for Consumer Protection and Empowerment, and Pradeep Rajania, Senior Manager for Consumer Policy, explain what the LCCP changes will mean for gambling operators and how consumers will be better protected. With the changes coming into effect on 31 October this year, it is recommended that all operators who have not yet watched the video or read the associated consultation response and note outlining the changes to the LCCP do so at their earliest convenience.

The Commission requires all operators to familiarise themselves with the changes, to put treating consumers fairly at the heart of their business model, to update their processes and protocols accordingly and to ensure that staff receive training to ensure they understand what the changes mean in practice.

Importantly, you should document the steps you take to address each of these calls to action by taking minutes of meetings where the changes are discussed/considered, updating training records to show additional training given and updating version control following updates made to policies and procedures, for example.
