Applications for UK citizenship from EU14 rise threefold

Applications for British citizenship from the 14 “original” EU member countries including Germany, France and Italy have more than tripled since the year before the Brexit referendum, analysis has revealed. Home Office data show that just under 14,000 nationals from the so-called EU14 group applied for citizenship in the year to June 2017, compared with about 4,500 in the year to June 2015.
