The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2021

Guy Rigby and David Murray are embarking on a 3,000-mile unassisted row from La Gomera in the Canaries to Antigua in the West Indies in their 24-foot rowing boat, Lily (also known as “The Entrepreneur Ship”). They expect this to take around 60 days and, should they be successful, (as records currently stand) they will be the oldest pair ever to row any ocean. Follow their progress here.

Meet the crew

Entrepreneurship is changing – with an increased awareness of environmental and social challenges, growing accountability and scrutiny from the media and the public, businesses are beginning to focus on a wider understanding of corporate Purpose, which includes people and planet as well as profit.

The purpose of Guy and David's challenge is to raise awareness of the benefits of entrepreneurship in all its aspects, while focusing on the development of social entrepreneurs and raising funds for a charity that finds, funds and supports them.

Mishcon de Reya understand this entirely. Our own core values and stated purpose is, "to enable our clients and our people to shape the world's possibilities". We view sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues as indispensable parts of the next generation of business-leaders.

To build diverse companies that solve the problems of tomorrow, we need to empower the next generation of business-leaders and support them through their entrepreneurial journey. David and Guy's chosen charity, UnLtd, supports the talent of the future - helping to create opportunities that lead to a fairer and more inclusive society.
