Join us for this Mishcon Academy: Digital Session with Andrew Pipe, a former Partner and Head of Employment, Pensions and Incentives at BLP, for a session which will explore the world of disability.
Andrew will share his experience of being disabled, as a left leg below knee amputee, and also being gay. He will openly discuss life with a disability – from mobility, to mobility after paralysis, wheelchair and amputation. He will also raise awareness and sensitivity around the wider generic areas of disability through his positive nature and humour but will also touch on the difficulties, darkness and frustrations.
Andrew was one of the founding members of Stonewall, set up and chaired his previous firm’s diversity committee, has lectured and run seminars on gay issues as well as being a trustee of the Limbless Association.
During the session, Andrew will look at how to address “disability” in our words and actions, looking specifically at unconscious bias. He will also share with us how we can be even more aware and engaged.
