Work Highlights

Recent deals include acting for the following:

  • D2 Private - acting for overseas private investor D2 Private, on the acquisition of Fortress House 23 Savile Row (previously the HQ of English Heritage) from Legal & General Assurance Society Limited for £110.3 million. The site is currently being redeveloped and we are acting on the ongoing planning and construction matters
  • Frogmore Real Estate Partners - acting for the Frogmore Real Estate Partners £1billion Fund on a two purchases where the prices are confidential including 46 and 50 St Mary Axe in the City of London and Westel House, Ealing which comprises connecting office buildings totalling 1,778 sq m. We continue to act on Frogmore's planned replacement of the buildings with 3,212 sq m of offices
  • Marshall Street Regeneration Ltd - advising Marshall Street Regeneration Limited for the substantial redevelopment in London's Soho of a major mixed used scheme incorporating a leisure complex (including the refurbishment of the listed Marshall Street swimming baths) municipal, residential and car park facilities. We acted on the development agreement which was entered into with the current landowner, City of Westminster and advice in relation to CPO, road closure, planning and landlord and tenant matters
  • Helical Bar Plc - acting for quoted property company Helical Bar Plc on a number of developments including the acquisition of sites for Helical Retirement Homes retirement villages in Telford Shropshire, Faygate West Sussex and including Bramshott Place, Liphook which is a retirement village development comprising 144 apartments, cottages and bungalows
  • Matterhorn Capital - acting on the £50.5 million acquisition of British Land's London headquarters at Cornwall Terrace, Regents Park on behalf of Matterhorn Capital, co-founded in 2005 by Anthony Lyons and Simon Conway, majority shareholders in the Earls Court and Olympia Group. We will be advising Matterhorn Capital on the redevelopment of the site as they intend to invest a further £35million to convert the buildings into exclusive luxury private homes.  We also advised Matterhorn on its purchase of St Joseph's College, a 230 bedroom residential college on seven acres in Mill Hill London and an EDF site adjacent to Lords Cricket ground for a total of £35.5million for redevelopment as luxury dwellings
  • St Giles Circus, Central London - advising Consolidated Developments Limited on major redevelopment proposals for ½million sq ft mixed use scheme, designed by Norman Foster, including one of the Mayor’s “100 Public Open Spaces” and transport interchange, working with Transport for London
  • 16 St James's Street, London SW1 - acting for Heron on the acquisition, financing development and letting of 16 St James's Street SW1. Ultimately acting on its disposal for £40 million. The flagship building comprises five floors of offices, a top restaurant and residential flats redeveloped behind its listed facade. We were involved in negotiations with the Crown Estate, London Borough of Westminster and English Heritage. Property issues involved rights of light, crane over-sailing rights and stopping up orders
  • A2 Housing Group - conditional exchange on the £11.25 million purchase of 88 new homes for affordable housing in the Fairview development at Concept House, Farnborough
  • Rugby Estates - acting for Rugby Estates fund vehicle 012 Estates on the acquisition of properties in the Olympics  area including Queens Gate, Waltham Cross from Clerical Medical Managed Funds and on the acquisition of Mellon House, Brentwood
  • Development Site, Warwickshire - Acting for Helical Bar Plc on the acquisition of a 75 acre development site with complex overage provisions and currently advising on the interplay between planning negotiations and the overage obligations
  • Gentian - we regularly act for Gentian, the leading retail developers specialising in NHS related PFI schemes.  We have recently completed the acquisition of their interest in a £370 million PFI scheme at Gloucester Royal Hospital.  We are also acting on the retail element of the £300 million PFI scheme at Newcastle RVI and Freeman Hospital and the £87 million scheme at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford
  • Fairview - advising on the sale for £22.7 million of 208 dwellings at the former Crawley Leisure Centre to Hyde Housing Association and Moat Homes. Also advising on a low cost market housing transaction with Crawley Borough Council pursuant to Section 106 obligations.
