Arbitration

London has long been the centre for commercial arbitration. It has also become the new home for many foreign, influential and high net worth business people; with many active in sectors such as oil, gas and other natural resources, where arbitration is often the preferred way of resolving disputes.

The relative ease with which arbitral awards can be enforced abroad, particularly when compared with High Court judgments, along with the confidential nature of arbitration proceedings have led to arbitration becoming an increasingly popular option for our clients.

Why we are different

Our international arbitration work forms an intrinsic and seamless part of our wider dispute resolution practice. When negotiating an agreement on behalf of a client, we offer a tailored and flexible approach to best serve our clients’ needs rather than automatically reverting to the courtroom for dispute resolution. If arbitration is the best solution for our client in the event of a dispute then we make sure their agreements reflect this.

We have worked on a wide range of arbitrations, in London and overseas, for both individuals and institutions across a variety of sectors including fraud, licensing, energy, real estate, and employment as well as general commercial and contractual disputes. In particular, our injunctive expertise enables us to offer clients significant strategic advantages.

Our vast experience of conducting cross-border cases means we are well placed to serve our clients’ needs in this marketplace. Furthermore, our associated office in New York enables us to offer on the ground expertise and advice in the US.
