Thomas is a property litigator in the Firm’s Real Estate department. The contentious work that he handles covers both commercial and residential property but with a particular emphasis on landlord and tenant disputes. The latter include business lease renewals (both contentious and non-contentious) and the issues arising out of them, arrears recovery, service charge disputes, dilapidations and the property aspects of insolvency. He also advises on issues such as consent to assign/sublet, the validity of break notices and forfeiture, and is regularly instructed in relation to disputed matters of pure property law, such as trespass, nuisance, adverse possession and contractual disputes arising out of property interests. He has particular expertise and experience in the removal of squatters from commercial and residential premises.
After graduating from Cambridge University, he qualified in 2005 and became an Assistant at Mishcon in 2006. He is a member of the Property Litigation Association.
