Simon Hunter
Simon heads our Construction Department. He has over 20 years experience in the sector initially as a quantity surveyor and then as a lawyer. He acts for developers, property owners, funders, contractors, consultants and sub-contractors and has particular expertise in the hotel & leisure, retail, education and rail sectors. He has also acted for private sector participants on a number of PPP and PFI projects.
Simon advises on both contentious and non-contentious construction law. On the non-contentious side, he advises on construction procurement strategy and prepares and negotiates all forms of contractual construction documentation. Simon is familiar with most standard forms of building contract. On the contentious side, Simon resolves disputes over building defects and professional negligence via litigation, adjudication or mediation.
Simon practiced as a quantity surveyor for ten years before qualifying as a solicitor. He is a member of the Society of Construction Law and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
