Raza is a Partner in the firm's Insolvency and Corporate Recovery Team. He specialises in both contentious and non-contentious insolvency and restructuring matters and typically acts for insolvency practitioners, creditors, directors of distressed companies, potential purchasers of insolvent businesses and other stakeholders.
Raza advises on all aspects of non- contentious corporate insolvency from the onset of insolvency through to the conclusion of a formal insolvency process. This can involve providing advice on directors' duties and restructuring options to directors of distressed companies; advising administrators in relation to trading and any other issues arising on and following their appointment; acting for officeholders and potential purchasers on the sale/acquisition of the business and assets of insolvency companies; and acting for officeholders in relation to claims brought against misfeasant directors and third parties.
He also advises on a variety of contentious matters and has acted for and against officeholders in relation to contested administration and compulsory winding up applications, antecedent transactions, director and officeholder misfeasance, wrongful and fraudulent trading and director disqualification.
