Natalie is the Professional Support Lawyer for the contentious side of Mishcon Private. Natalie provides legal expertise, as well as training (for staff and clients), centralising know-how and promoting and delivering efficient systems to help enable the group to achieve client objectives swiftly and comprehensively. Natalie is responsible for drafting and developing the team's precedents and writing regular legal updates, as well as providing the Firm's responses to the government's proposed draft legislation in her area.
Natalie is a litigator and Solicitor-Advocate (All Higher Courts). She has extensive experience in private practice, having trained and qualified at Linklaters, where she worked in the commercial litigation department. She then joined Schillings to develop her passion for media litigation, gaining vast experience in pre- and post- publication media disputes. Natalie gained complementary experience in an in-house environment, joining IFPI as their Senior Legal Advisor, advising the business and major record companies on media litigation and copyright disputes, before returning to private practice.
Key Experience
- Pre-publication reputation protection work, including regular experience of obtaining injunctions or undertakings not to publish/broadcast and circular legal notices.
- Post-publication reputation protection work, including swift notice and take-down, prominent apologies and damages. Handling referrals to the Press Complaints Commission and media managing OFCOM and ICSTIS (now Phonepay Plus) investigations into my client.
- Cross-over work for high profile media clients, including obtaining Restricted Reporting Orders under which to conduct employment litigation, and advising in relation to copyright, data protection and driving offences.
- Pre-publication clearance and compliance advice for a trade association, conducting reputational audits and media management via notice and takedown.
- Experience working on magic circle multi-jurisdictional ultra high value commercial litigation.
- Experienced in proceedings brought in the High Court of the Royal Courts of Justice, Privy Council, Employment Tribunal, County Court and ad-hoc applications before a Master.
- Co-ordinating business development initiatives, including designing and launching a client reputational audit package, writing articles and presenting seminars and briefings.
