Melissa is a Managing Associate in the Dispute Resolution department. She specialises in commercial litigation, civil fraud and contentious insolvency acting for both individual and corporate clients.
Melissa's work covers a variety of commercial disputes, including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and conspiracy claims.
Melissa has experience in obtaining injunctive relief to assist victims of fraud, including search orders, freezing orders, third party disclosure orders and delivery-up orders. She has worked on a number of cases involving data theft, misappropriation of confidential information and breach of restrictive covenants using these civil fraud injunctive procedures.
Key Experience
- Acted on behalf of foreign clients and their companies in pursuing a claim for damages suffered following the grant of an anti-suit injunction in the High Court.
- Represented top recruitment and property businesses and advised on breach of contract, misappropriation of confidential information and data theft.
- Advised a liquidator in bringing several applications pursuant to s238 of the Insolvency Act 1986 to recover monies which were the subject of transactions at undervalue.
- Assisted in large team acting for high profile banker facing criminal investigations in other EU member states, extradition from the UK, criminal restraint proceedings and large-scale commercial litigation in the civil courts.
