Laura is an Associate in the Firm's Employment Department. She advises employers and employees on both contentious and non-contentious aspects of the law, including terminations, compromise agreements, redundancies, discrimination, whistleblowing, TUPE, bonuses, restrictive covenants and other contractual issues. She also advises on Employment Tribunal and High Court procedure.
She has made advice to executives in the financial and telecommunications sectors a particular forte and was recently involved in representing a number of City bankers in their successful claim for bonuses against Dresdner Kleinwort.
Laura assists several companies with ongoing employment law issues and regularly co-authors articles on a diverse range of topics in the employment law arena.
Key Experience
Assisted in advising an individual claimant in a high profile race discrimination claim in the Employment Tribunal against Dresdner Bank.
Assisted in advising a number of City Bankers in a multi-million pound claim in the High Court for unpaid bonuses and severance pay against Dresdner Kleinwort, now owned by Commerzbank. We successfully litigated the claims in summary judgment applications.
Assisted in advising Astaire & Partners Limited, the independent agency stockbroker and bespoke private client discretionary fund manager, on the employment aspects of its £1.67 million sale to investment bank and stockbroker, Blue Oar plc.
