Jason is an Associate in our Real Estate department. Having recently joined the team from SJ Berwin LLP his practice covers a broad range of mainstream real estate work, development work, real estate finance, corporate real estate and property and asset management arrangements.

Jason acts for a broad range of clients from FTSE 100 and 250 listed property companies and pension funds to private investors and developers to banks, hotel owners, operators in the leisure sector and occupiers.

Jason is a founding member and treasurer of the commercial real estate legal association.

Real Estate Investment

advising on sales and purchases of a number of landmark City and West End office investments as both asset sales/purchases and using corporate vehicles

advising on a number of portfolio sale and lease-back transactions involving a variety of assets including department stores, supermarkets and restaurants

acting for a variety of business in relation to their occupational needs including occupiers of City offices, high street retailers, hotel and leisure operators and charities

Real Estate Finance

advising the lender on the development financing of a major exhibition centre and associated hotel

acting for an interested bank on the development financing of a landmark tower of international significance

acting for borrowers in relation to the investment financing of a variety of assets including office towers and hotels

advising the borrower on the investment financing of a large portfolio of residential properties including terms loans secured on existing assets and a revolving credit facility to fund future acquisitions

Development

advising on the appointment of a development manager by a local authority in connection with a significant Central London regeneration project

acting for a developer in connection with the regeneration of an historic town centre

advising a FTSE 100 property company generally in connection with a number of mixed use developments

undertaking a number of development appraisals and providing general advice to a FTSE 250 developer in the industrial sector

Corporate Real Estate

advice in connection with the proposed listing of a property investment company on AIM including preparing a due diligence report and listing particulars

dealing with the property and some corporate aspects of the sale and purchase of companies, unit trusts and other property owning corporate entities

acting in connection with the solvent restructuring of a structure that held a large portfolio of properties held through a number of off-shore unit trusts, companies and limited partnerships

advising a number of property owning clients in connection with the appointment of asset and property managers and acting for asset managers in connection with their appointment
