Ian is a partner in the Firm’s Real Estate department. His experience and expertise is in the purchase, sale, development and letting of all types of freehold and leasehold commercial property. A recommended leader in his field (Chambers 2012 and Legal 500 2011), he has developed a particular following amongst the more entrepreneurial and innovative property companies and funds. His clients include Helical Bar, Topland Group and UBS Global Asset Management (UK). They rely on Ian to manage the increasingly complex financial structuring of property deals which require plenty of lateral creative thinking. Legal 500 2011 says that Ian “can structure property deals better than most people who work at property companies”, while Chambers 2012 comments that he “couples substantial commercial property knowledge with good strategic advice”.
