Personal: Pink Law “Highly Commended” by the Attorney General

Pink Law was highly commended by the Attorney General, Baroness Scotland QC, at an award ceremony at the House of Lords yesterday. The specialist Legal Advice Centre, run by Queen Mary, University of London in conjunction with Mishcon de Reya and two other city law firms, offers free legal advice to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community, on employment discrimination, civil partnerships and cohabitation issues. It was nominated in the Best New Pro Bono Activity category of the LawWorks and Attorney General Students Awards 2009.
Emma Woollcott, media and public advocacy solicitor at Mishcon de Reya said “It is wonderful that the students’ and Queen Mary’s efforts with this innovative and exciting new project have been recognised and rewarded.”
