Mishcon de Reya wins Law Firm of the Year and Real Estate Team of the Year at Legal Business Awards
Mishcon de Reya was last night named Law Firm of the Year and Real Estate Team of the Year at The Legal Business Awards, fighting off tough competition from fellow nominees, including Allen & Overy, DLA Piper, SJ Berwin and Freshfields.
2011 was a successful year for the firm, which in June reported significant financial growth for the 2010-11 financial year. Turnover increased by £14m, from £47.5m in 2009-10 to £61.5m. Profits per equity partner (PEP) also increased, up 28% on the previous year, from £450,000 to £575,000.
The Real Estate Team increased revenues by 40% in 2011 and secured a key role in representing Capco on its development of Earls Court and Olympia, as well as a key role representing Delancey and Qatari Diar on the real estate aspects of their £557m purchase and management of the Olympic village.
Mishcon made 13 new Partner hires in the last year, including the recent appointment of Partner Michael Stutman, who is heading up a new Family Practice in the firm’s New York office.
Commenting on the win, Managing Partner Kevin Gold said: “We are very proud to have been named Law Firm of the Year and Real Estate Team of the Year, particularly in light of such deserving competitors. I would like to thank everyone at Mishcon for their part in our success.”
