Mishcon de Reya Real Estate Partner appointed to be Honorary Queens Counsel

Philip Freedman CBE, partner at Mishcon de Reya, has today been appointed be the Queen’s Counsel honoris causa.

The appointment was ratified by the Queen after the Department of Justice’s recommendation in recognition of “his work developing the practical aspects of property law”.

Mr Freedman has been with London based law firm Mishcon de Reya for 38 years and specialises in property development and leasehold work for investors, developers and lenders.

He is a member of the Law Society’s Conveyancing and Land Law Committee and is a noted author on land law.

In 2005 he was awarded a CBE in recognition of his longstanding services to property law.

Philip follows in the footsteps of his former partner, Lord Mishcon, who was the first solicitor in England and Wales to be awarded the Honorary Queens Counsel.
